Awesome effort from everyone who participated in cross country last week. Great to see so many students taking the opportunity to run and have a go!
The mighty Tōtara tree stands tall and proud. It protects those smaller than itself. In ancient times it was used to build waka that carried hundreds of warriors and build whare to protect people from the earths elements. As the team gifted with the name tōtara, we take on much of it’s meaning. We protect those who are younger than us and we support others by encouraging them, and being active role models in our kura. We are the leaders of KNS.

Upcycling
Totara Team have been learning about sustainability, in particular Upcycling.
We have been very creative in constructing planters from old plastic bottles and we have been working in groups to take items that would otherwise be thrown away and turn them into valuable products like - Notice board, Fidget spinner, Animal house, Tyre Seat, Book Shelf, Shrink Toys and Vases.
